Special Financial Giving Opportunities
In the course of our wide-ranging ministry, seeking to meet the needs of people in every age and stage of life, it becomes necessary to expand, re-define and explore new forms of ministry. Even as we cling to our foundational purpose of being a worshiping body of believers, the church is in a constant state of responding to new callings. First-Plymouth Church has developed several opportunities for special giving through one time or major gifts and deferred gifts, including an endowment fund.
Program Needs
As an example from our recent past, designated dollars helped fund new television equipment for this vital First-Plymouth ministry. Funds have also been directed to be used to supply scholarships for Vacation Church School, which is a blessing to both the Church and to our neighbors in the community.
Capital Needs/Major Gifts
There are many needs in a church this size and age that are not possible to build into an annual budget. Much is needed to maintain the beauty and integrity of the building and grounds. Some of the Foundation’s capital has been used for repair and replacement of the granite steps at the main entrance, and to supplement the cost of major repairs that require attention to historical style for this community landmark.
Emerging Needs/Special Funding
Whether responding to the specific requests of families in transition, or local, national or global tragedies warranting our response, operating funds simply don't accommodate these unanticipated needs.
Future Needs
First-Plymouth was founded in 1866 and our current building was dedicated in 1931. Over our long and wonderful history, the church has been seen as a beacon on the hill. More than ever, the voice, message and ministries of First-Plymouth Church are needed in our community, our region, and our nation. Perhaps we can all do our part in giving the church a special gift in the form of an immediate gift or deferred gift.
