The Confirmation experience at First-Plymouth gives youth an opportunity to learn about the traditions of the Christian faith, explore the diversity of faith, and begin to frame their beliefs as Christians and future leaders of the Church.
The year begins with a Confirmation Retreat at Camp Timberlake in September and continues with age-specific classes held on Wednesdays 6:15-7:15 p.m. and Sundays 10:30-11:30 a.m.
We meet in small and large group sessions to study the Christian faith, learn about the history and tradition of the United Church of Christ, and to share our questions about faith and spirituality. Periodically we travel to worship with congregations from different faiths and belief sets to learn more about how others see God. Highlights of the year are the Confirmation Ceremony on the Sunday following Easter, service projects and outreach including Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach, the Center for People in Need, and taking leadership roles in the Christmas and Easter services.
