At First-Plymouth, there is an opportunity for everyone to be involved in music ministry.

Chapel Choir (grades K-2)

Chapel Choir is for children in grades K-2. We meet in the chapel on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School time during the 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. services. Led by Kathie Johnson, our Director of Children and Family Ministries, this choir sings in morning worship about once a month and for our annual Christmas Eve pageant.

ChoristersChoristers (grades 3-5)

All children in third, fourth, and fifth grade are invited to sing with the First-Plymouth's Choristers. We maintain an active schedule serving as worship leaders on the first and third Sunday of every month at the 9:00 a.m. worship service. The Choristers' experience offers a warm, welcoming environment for children to explore their artistic gifts, to begin to nurture their spiritual lives, and to channel their creative energies in a fun and meaningful way! We sing not to entertain an audience, but to offer praise to God on behalf of our families and friends in the congregation. The Choristers rehearse on Wednesday evenings, September through May from 5:45-6:30 p.m. in the Chapel with Tom Trenney.  The current schedule for the Choristers can be found by clicking here: Schedule

Chorale (grades 6-12)

Youth in grades 6-12 are encouraged to raise their voices to God, sharing music together in First-Plymouth's Chorale.  Led by Jeremy Bankson, this group of junior and senior high students meets in the choir room each Wednesday evening from 5:45-6:30 p.m. and sings as leaders in worship at the 9:00 a.m.  worship service on the second and fourth Sunday of each month. The current schedule for this dynamic ensemble can be found by clicking heree: Schedule

Youth Orchestra

First Plymouth's amazing Youth Orchestra is an ensemble made up of instrumentalists in grades 6-12 who come together to play in worship for major church events each year. The group rehearses for a few weeks prior to playing-- a short term commitment with great rewards for the musicians and the congregation! Contact conductor Jeremy Bankson if you would like to play with the orchestra! The current schedule for this ensemble can be found by clicking here: Schedule

Matin Singers

The Matin Singers are busy adults who enjoy singing but cannot make a huge weekly commitment.  The Matin Singers share their music at the 9:00 morning service ("matin" means "morning").  This caring, welcoming group is open to ALL adults.  Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 5:30-6:15 p.m. in the choir room with Jeremy Bankson. The current schedule for this ensemble can be found by clicking here: Schedule

First-Plymouth Choir

The First-Plymouth welcomes all adults who have a desire to raise whatever voice they have! The requirements for membership are enthusiasm, energy, and effort. Our rehearsals are as uplifting as they are challenging. We work to develop a collective sense of community that enables us to share glimpses of God’s love with one another. We sing regularly for worship services and also participate in many community concerts in partnership with Abendmusik: Lincoln. Singing in the First-Plymouth Choir is without question a major commitment, but the rewards are worthwhile in every way! We consider the time we spend together to be Holy ground. Rehearsals are held September through May on Wednesdays from 7:15-9:30 PM in the Choir Room. For further information, read about us or take a look at our Schedule
