First Plymouth Performing Arts Camp: A week long day camp designed to help elementary age students explore and enjoy the performing arts. Students will learn from expert instructors in choir, drumming, handbells, drama, and dance. This camp is for kids who have completed kindergarten through kids who have completed 5th grade. Camp meets from 9:30 to 3:30, Monday July 14-Friday July 18, with a camp showcase performance at the conclusion of camp on Friday. Aftercare is available as needed from 3:30-5:30. There is no cost to attend camp! Come be a part of the fun!
Children, Youth, & Family Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer for VBS
Volunteers need to be available from 8:30am - 12pm every day between June 9th and June 13th. You can volunteer to help, but only as Youth Volunteers or to help setup/takedown decorations. Please remember to note your adult T-shirt size in the comments at sign-up.
Station Leaders: Responsible for preparing and leading 1 themed Activity Station: Music, Games, Imaginations (hands-on crafts), or Sticky Scripture (interactive with video and discussion). You will be provided a lesson plan and have an assistant to provide support.
Lead Teachers: This role includes: Taking attendance, escorting the class from station to another on schedule, assisting Station Leaders as needed, work as part of a 2-3 person team, engage with kids and ensure they feel welcome.
Assistant Teachers: Help with attendance, check-in/check-out, moving between stations, support the Lead Teacher and Youth assistants, assign helper roles to children each day.
Youth Assistants: Assigned to classrooms and will travel with children to their rotations. Help children with tasks at stations, assist in activities in classrooms and transitions between them, encourage engagement, be a positive and high-energy role model for kids.
Snack Team: Snack Team ensures all kids get a quick energy boost during VBS by preparing and distributing simple snacks, managing snack time and keeping the area clean.
Two Decoration Setup Teams: These volunteers help bring the VBS theme to life by decorating and setting up spaces (you may volunteer here and in another area).
Decoration Takedown Team: These volunteers help bring the VBS event to a close. (You may volunteer here and in another area!) June 13th – Tearing down decorations and cleaning up after the VBS Final Celebration (12:30-1:30 p.m).
